Devachar in a Bottle Ghost stories are popular all across the world, but the Devchars are unique. They are among the most revered and mischievous spirit-gods of Goa, a beautiful coastal state in western India. This project serves as a structured visual development and narrative illustration piece that traps regional folklore into a single frame. The layout utilizes a multi-layered digital painting workflow, setting a warm, domestic indoor environment against the haunting silhouette of the supernatural force peering through the window. The illustration leverages high-contrast, dual-source lighting to heighten the theatrical tension between objective reality and ancient legend. Inspired By: Traditional Konkan ghost stories and folklore from Goa, heavily influenced by the striking, high-contrast graphic art styles of classic horror comics and traditional regional storytelling.
